Thank you for your interest in our app “Jappan – Food Guide App” and its associated website “www.jappan.app”. We take the protection of your data very seriously. Below, we explain what data we process, for what purpose, and under which legal provisions.
App
You might have noticed, to use the app, we ask for your email address. As the
app is free and we completely refrain from advertising within the app, we
collect the email addresses of our users. Our goal is to build a comprehensive
mailing list to occasionally offer small advertising spaces in the sporadically
appearing JAPPAN newsletter, thereby contributing to financing the voluntary
project. Your email address will be exclusively used within the scope of this
newsletter and will not be passed on to third parties. You have the option to
unsubscribe from the newsletter list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe
link at the end of each newsletter. If you hate the newsletter but love the app,
please consider donating a small amount to keep the project going:

To send the newsletters, we work with the established provider sender.net. In
the app, we refrain from using analytic tools.
Contact
If you contact us via email, phone, or other means, for example, to request
support, send us questions or comments, or report a problem, we will collect the
transmitted data (name, email address, message, etc.). We only use this data to
be able to respond to your contact request. We do not share this data with third
parties without your consent.
Website
On the website, we refrain from using cookies or analytic tools.
You have the right to information about your personal data processed by us. In
addition to this right to information, you may also have a right to
rectification or erasure of your personal data concerning you, as well as the
right to restrict processing. You also have the right to receive the data you
have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
We can only identify you via your email address and only fulfill your request
and provide information about the personal data concerning you if we have
personal data about you, either through direct contact with us and/or using our
app.
We are not allowed to provide information about data we store on behalf of our
users or clients; we are also not allowed to correct or delete such data. If you
wish to exercise the rights explained above regarding your personal data and/or
have questions about the processing of your personal data by us, please contact
konnichiwa@jappan.app. Additionally, you have the right to lodge a complaint
with the data protection authority in your jurisdiction.
Changes
We reserve the right to change our privacy policy at any time if this becomes
necessary due to new technologies, legal provisions, or restructuring measures.
